Working with TK1 Youth to Reduce Stigma and Increase Understanding

At NEST, we believe that people experiencing homelessness deserve more than services. They deserve to be seen.

In partnership with TK1 Youth, DreamTree Project is working to help reduce stigma around homelessness by sharing stories that highlight the humanity, complexity, and lived experiences of our unhoused neighbors.

Through youth-created media, interviews, documentaries, and community storytelling, this collaboration helps create opportunities for education, empathy, and connection.

Homelessness is not one story.

People arrive at NEST after job loss, medical crises, family disruption, trauma, housing shortages, rising costs, substance use challenges, or other difficult life circumstances.

By sharing these experiences thoughtfully and respectfully, we hope to increase awareness, strengthen community understanding, and encourage people to engage with local solutions.

Because when people are seen, conversations change. And when conversations change, communities do too.
